Very Scary House

NO ONE ESCAPES THIS HOUSE ALONE.

An asymmetric co-op horror game where two players, separated by the house, must communicate to survive.

Concept

Concept visual — not representative of final assets

Very Scary House is a cooperative asymmetric horror game built on communication under pressure.

Victor (J1) enters the manor while Alex (J2) guides him from an external control station.

Physically separated but linked by voice, they must combine their information, solve puzzles and prepare a ritual before Lorth' kills them.

Asymmetric puzzles

Neither player has all the information required to solve the puzzles alone.

Hunted. Haunted. Sabotaged.

Lorth' hunts Victor while Abigail disrupts both players.

Built for replayability

The house, puzzle locations and threats are designed to change between runs in the full game.

The Hawthorne manor

Victor and Alex travel to the abandoned Hawthorne manor in Louisiana, searching for a paranormal livestream opportunity.

The house belonged to the Hawthorne family, whose history is tied to Abigail, forbidden rituals and the summoning of Lorth'.

What begins as a paranormal investigation quickly becomes a fight for survival.

Explore · Manipulate · Collect · Survive

Inside the manor, Victor (J1) searches for ritual pieces while escaping Lorth'. He sees the danger — but depends on Alex to understand it.

  • Find puzzles, ritual objects and consumables.
  • Describe what you see and follow the manual's instructions.
  • Hide, flee, distract or counter Lorth'.

J2 — The Tech Guy

Alex

Observe · Analyze · Guide · Prepare

From the control station, Alex (J2) splits his attention between cameras, the manual and Abigail's attacks. He has the tools to guide Victor — but never sees the whole house.

  • Track Lorth' on cameras and warn Victor.
  • Use Victor's reports and the manual to solve puzzles.
  • Restore sabotaged systems and resist Abigail.

Lorth' evolves

One demon. Endless possibilities.

Each evolution changes how he perceives, moves and attacks — and visible mutations reveal the new threat.

Physical

Strength, speed or levitation change how Lorth' moves through the house.

Senses

Hearing, sight or smell reshape the hunt and can be countered by Victor's consumables.

Special

Grab, miasma, darkness or breath allow Lorth' to close the distance on Victor.

Final

Teleportation, invisibility and illusion can be detected by Alex through camera disturbances.

Current prototype capture

Known issues (prototype)

Very Scary House is a playable prototype. We’re aware of the following; they shouldn’t stop you from finishing a run.

  • Puzzle sounds — On Divine Gems and Mystical Symbols, an extra sound can play when you enter a correct step. It is not the full-puzzle success sting.
  • End-of-match audio — Puzzle music or SFX may linger briefly after a win or a loss.
  • Lorth’ in walls / floors — During a chase, Lorth’ can occasionally path into unintended volume (especially on the first floor) or spot you through a very thin wall.
  • Stairs — He can snag on some stair rails for a moment, then unstick on his own.
  • Hiding — If Lorth’ saw you go in, he may linger nearby. Leaving too soon is still dangerous.

If you hit something else, tell us (ideally: P1/P2 role, what you were doing, and a short clip if you can).
